Colour: Orange

Entry Log 1: Day 1

Orange. The ground is orange. The wind takes the top layer of sand and blows it outward. Everything underneath is too heavy to be lifted by the light gusts of wind that keep rolling at regular intervals. The orange sand makes spirals in the sky before the wind drops it back down again. The sky too is orange, but a paler one. The sand is a dark strong orange were as the sky is the softest orange I have ever seen. If it got any paler it wouldn’t even been there. The sun is hanging low in the east like a brilliant orange fruit. I am extremely worried about how hot it was going to get in the afternoon, it is hot all ready. I wipe my forehead with the back of my hand. Walking is difficult, gravity must be heavier here than in my homeworld. My foot occasionally sinks into the hot sand. I am just grateful that the air is breathable. That, or filled with toxins that move too slowly to kill me right away. I walk across the barren orange landscape until I see something that fills my heart with joy. Tree of some sort spring up over the horizon, I make my way to them.

I finally reach them. The trees are just as orange as everything else on this planet I’ve seen so far but they are the closest thing to primary I have seen yet. I greet the shade they cast like a long last friend. Their bark is smooth for the most part, with a divot were the bark stops and another segment starts. The trees are tall and slightly curved. They remind me very much of tapeworms, the comparison is completely unintentional but its the first thing that comes to mind when looking at them. I set my things down besides the tree that I’m resting on. There are four trees here but no source of water. I ponder briefly if there is an underground water source before unpacking my things. I shall rest here until night fall when it is cool enough to travel.
